HOW TO PREPARE

Welcome to Reach 5 Play House!

Here are some helpful information to get your child and family prepared for child care.

Arrival and Pick-Up:

To drop-off/pick-up your child, please use the gate to enter. Sanitize your hands and your child’s hands. Please follow the social distancing rule of 6 feet apart. A mask or a facial covering must be worn by children and parents or guardian.

Always Sign In/Sign Out:

Please be sure to enter Drop-off/Pick-up times and sign the Attendance Sheet every time. If you arranged for alternative pickup, please inform me in advance and let that person know to sign in and sign out. Use pens in ‘clean’ cup and place in ‘dirty’ cup after use.

Separation Anxiety:

The first weeks of child care maybe challenging for both parent(s) and the child(ren) with separation anxiety. Some children take more time to adjust to new people, surroundings and schedule. Please note that this is normal. To make separation process a little easier, your child can bring a family photo or a favorite book from home.

Saying Goodbye to your Child:

Saying goodbye to your child maybe difficult for first time parent(s) and your child. To make goodbyes easier, hug your child, say “I will pick you up at ___’o clock after I’m done at ______. I love you”, then leave promptly. Parents who linger, holding and hugging for extended time makes each drop off more difficult, especially for part time children. Please be consistent each time. You are welcome to call during the day to ask about your child.

What to bring on the first day:

Please provide extra articles of clothing to keep at child care. Children will engage in activities that may require change of clothes. Please bring : shirts, pants, underwear, socks, etc. Please label all items with your child’s name with black permanent ink.

What not to bring on the first day of child care:

Please do not bring food, beverage, or toys to child care. A toy may get lost, broken, or stollen. Reach 5 Play House is not responsible for any broken or lost toys. I cannot ensure daily washing of personal toys.

What to bring if your child will nap at child care:
If your child will be napping, please bring a blanket or a towel. A fitted sheet will be provided. Daycare sheets are washed every Friday. You are responsible to keep clean the blankets/towel at child care. If your child has not completed toilet training, you must provide extra diapers, underwear, pants, socks, and plastic bags for soiled clothes. Any soiled clothing will not be laundered at child care.
